It's so good to have Pharrell back. While he's spent the last few years behind the scenes producing everyone from Fall Out Boy to Game, last year heralded his return to the spotlight thanks to his work with Daft Punk and
that song with Robin Thicke. With a new album on the way and its first single, "Happy," blowing up the charts worldwide, the N.E.R.D. frontman has hooked up with Major Lazer for the frenetic "Aerosol Can."
Taken from the soon-to-be-released Major Lazer EP
Apocalypse Soon, and sounding eerily like a Missy Elliot beat, "Aerosol Can" is a pulsating club banger, minus the usual dubby feel of their early releases. Say what you want about the beat (believe me, some fans aren't
aren't pleased), you can't hate on Pharrell for finally dropping rhymes again, especially when he references one of my favorite video games (Mario Kart).
It might not be to everyone's liking, but I think this is a great tune that continues to highlight how awesome Pharrell is.
