So, judging from my last few posts, you would deduce that I am a little bit in love with the electro-soul sound coming out of the UK, and you'd be completely right.
SG Lewis, Alfa Mist, Tom Misch, NAO, Denai Moore, Laura Welsh, Emmavie, Sam Wills -- the list goes on and on, and it's truly inspiring.
One of my favorite artists in this same vein has to be Louis Mattrs, whose Slow Waves EP enjoys regular playing time in my headphones. Louis has one of those sultry, sexy voices that make me want to give up singing altogether (or at least take some lessons)!
"Young Gun (Oh My)" is the fourth track from the EP to be covered on Indie Shuffle, and with good reason. Louis' has a solid grasp of what it is to create a sexy R&B track, both in the vocal and production department, pairing subtle backing vocals with chilled out beats and smooth keys.
Looking forward to what he releases next.
