As far as Chicago's rap scene goes, I can take it or leave it when it comes to Lil Durk. There's nothing wrong with the dude, I just don't find what he's doing any better then a host of other drill artist. As such, my main reason for posting this track is the guest verse from Detroit up-and-comer Dej Loaf.
As far as female rappers go, Loaf is one of my favorites. She's got great wordplay and a smooth flow that works on just about any beat. As you'd expect, she's on point on "My Beyonce."
Loaf and Durk are supposedly in some form of relationship, with the two eluding to this in their lyrical content. Loaf says she's thinking about changing her last name while Durk raps "me and you like Bonnie and Clyde." How sweet.
This is a change of pace for Durk, with his auto-tuned vocals not as grating as previous releases. I must admit to liking this way more than anything else he's put out of late. So much so that I'm willing to give his upcoming mixtape 300 Days, 300 Nights a decent listen.
