Why do we like this?

While we're on the Lanks train, I had another listen to his SoundCloud profile tonight, and can't believe that I somehow missed this gorgeous track from his 2015 sophomore EP Banquet.

"Brothers Of The Mountain" is a warm, swirling tune that encompasses your whole being. The melancholy, beautifully written storyline evokes vivid images, while subtle harmonies, prominent beats, and layer upon layer of wonderfully executed melody lines build in the choruses, and then fall away slightly in the verses.

Lanks effortlessly marries the winding narratives of folk songs with lush, textured electronic sounds, which has garnered the singer, songwriter, and producer a pretty solid following over the past 18 months. Looking forward to his next batch of songs in 2016, I think he could definitely be Australia's next big thing.
