Sometimes I forget that once in a while, when stars align and the equinox and solstice coincide and the harvest moon is in Jupiter, Knxwledge releases music through traditional means.
Back in 2010, All City Dublin was the first to invest in the young East Coast beatmaker through the Klouds LP. The sought-after vinyl has since been re-pressed for those that slept, but the real news of the hour is Knx has been quietly assembling the follow-up, Kauliflower.
Eighteen tracks of all-new material created in Knx's unmistakable style and a pretty epic childhood photo as a cover make for a great listening experience. The first leak from the release is "3koin," which in classic Knx fashion meanders through beats and moods. We run into DMX somewhere along the line, who reminds us there is mad money out in the world if we just apply ourselves.
Some older heads might feel the urge not to ill, but instead just chill, with their hands around a $100 bill.
