Question: When you originally heard the song "Symphonies," did you think to yourself, "Damn, I wish someone would just cut out all that shitty Dan Black but leave Kid Cudi?" Well then, today is your lucky day. This Riley Keating (aka R3K) remix replaces "Symphonies" for "Cosmic Love" (thank god) and beautifully blends Kid Cudi into a calming rap punctuated by the lovely intensity that is Florence Welch
.
Backstory: I had to listen to Dan Black's Symphonies once. It was terrible. (#firstworldproblems) First of all, I learned that I do not like Dan Black's music. He named his album "UN" as in "un-rock, un-hip hop, un-everything." So postmodern of him, right?
Also: what the fuck? How many people are there with the name R3k? Well, I'll tell you: there's r3k, there's R3k and then there's the ultra-similar R3x (ok maybe that was my typo). Long story short, I was under the impression that this was done by a different musician at least three times before writing this.
Anyway, I'd like to introduce a great remix by Riley Keating, the R3k behind "Falling Star." At almost three minutes long, this song is a perfect little delight that sounds so good you'll forget the original ever existed. One can always hope, right?
