Why do we like this?
Houses are a duo comprised of Dexter Tortoriello and Megan Messina. According to Last.fm and in short, the couple lived an indigenous and sustainable lifestyle while living off the land in Papaikou, Hawaii. The lifestyle they experienced while in Hawaii was their inspiration behind their style of music, and ultimately translated into a balance of ambient and minimal electronic beats that have a strong organic feeling.
Houses have recently put their organic touch on the hot Kate Boy's song, "Northern Lights," which is an elegant example of their work. The remix tones down the original poppy version while adding meandering electronic fills and echoing vocals.
