Why do we like this?
Chicago soul singer Jesse Boykins III released his latest LP, Bartholomew, earlier this week. The 17-track album is a collection of smooth R&B jams featuring a host of guests, including Isaiah Rashad, Dej Loaf, Mick Jenkins, Little Simz, Trinidad James, and Kilo Kish.
One of my favorite tracks is the Willow Smith and Syd (of The Internet fame) collaboration "Vegetables." The song cleverly uses eating vegetables as a metaphor for doing all the right things with your lady that leads to getting intimate. Smith and Syd not only contribute a verse, but provide beautiful harmonies for Boykins to croon over.
