Why do we like this?

It's a good time to be a fan of 90s emo, with bands like Braid and Mineral reuniting to play some some epic shows hopefully reminiscent of their glory days. But if you thought seeing Mineral was the only treat, then you haven't listened to Into It. Over It., the band slated as their opener for the tour.

Serving as the solo-vehicle (now with a touring band), Into It. Over It. is the baby of Evan Weiss. He's an ambitious songwriter/musician from New Jersey whose projects include writingand producinga song every week for 52 straight weeks -- not to mention two other brilliant albums released over the last few years. This is a mangoing places.

Weiss' latest release,Intersections, is chock full of intelligent indie guitar roc. Hefinds himself coming to terms with growing older over fuzzy guitars and pounding drums, all well represented on the track "A Curse Worth Believing."

While the songdefinitely carries some emo influences, Into It. Over It. looks to make great music apart from a scene influenced by a smorgasbord of all that made the 90s and early 2000s such a great time for music. He doesn't needto feel all the weight and misconceptions that the word "emo" has come to bring in the year 2014, but instead is taking afterbands like Death Cab For Cutie (who are known for making great music).

If you're lucky enough to live in a city where tickets aren't sold out for the Mineral reunion tour featuring Into It. Over It., go see this live performance. Check out tour dateshere.
