Oh, Norway. Home to black metal, awesome rap (which I'd never even considered before right now) and Röyksopp. Joining those ranks is Intertwine, an artist and architect also known as Tarjei Zakarias Ekelund.
His debut album Goraikoo will be coming out later this year. The unique title comes from a Japanese phrase meaning "coming of light," which specifically refers to the sunrise witnessed at the top of Mount Fuji.
This single was described by the artist as "obnoxious about... the kind of distance that slowly tears a relationship to pieces."
Intimate and introverted despite the expansiveness, this vast, ethereal track washes over you in waves of pastel ambience. As the tones continue to grow and expand, the invigorating atmosphere climbs with dreamy clarity.
A satisfying and beautiful piece from Intertwine, I'm really looking forward to hearing the full album.
Goraikoo will be released on November 6 via Brilliance Records.
