Yukon Blonde's frontman Jeffrey Innes has a new side project called High Ends. From the taste we've been given so far, it sounds a little more pensive and electro-infused than the sunny alt-rock we've come to expect from his band.
High Ends reminds me a little of the solo project of fellow Canadian Kevin Drew of Broken Social Scene, or if The National added a little electro flair to their sound and didn't take themselves so seriously for a second.
The music video for "Downtown" was released yesterday, and it really sticks in your head after a couple of listens -- especially the bridge, which takes you by surprise, but fits beautifully and really lifts this song to another level.
High End's first album, Super Class, comes out October 7.
