Confession: Gramatik is one of my favorite producers of all time. With hip-hop infused beats, old-school swing samples and expertly crafted instrumental groove tracks, his eclectic musical skills never disappoint. His new album Epigram is no exception.
Released March 25, I couldn't wait to give this album a listen. It's filled with all the anticipated unexpectedness Gramatik is known for. The genre-defying producer shows off his talents, featuring appearances from The Age Of Reason collaborator Orlando "Leo" Napier, Russ Liquid and Wu-Tang MC Raekwon. Awesome.
I chose this track because the simplicity of the intro stood out to me. Surrounded by upbeat electro-funk tracks, "Room 3327" is a breath of fresh air on an otherwise tenacious album. It's packed with eerie violins, haunting piano keys and ghostly voices. Something spooky and funky must have gone down in room 3327.
If you haven't been keeping up with Gramatik, it's time for an introduction. You can download his ENTIRE DISCOGRAPHY FO FREE or stream the new album on SoundCloud.
