The fact that Go Yama chose to introduce this track with a Steve Brule sample really grabbed my attention. (If you're not familiar with Dr. Steve Brule, there is a YouTube player with a clip at the bottom of this post.)
I expected "Contact" to continue into something absurdly funny, or just downright weird, but Go Yama ended up taking a more accessible approach.
The San Francisco artist picks the ideal percussion hits for the track, and distorts the pitched 808 in a way that many love. Layered perfectly above that percussion is a jazzy synth line that will make anyone smile.
If you enjoy this one, definitely go check out the rest of what Go Yama has to offer here.
