Today we've got an Indie Shuffle exclusive for you, straight from Houston's Football, Etc.
While the band is busying touring away in the UK (you can check those dates out here), the rest of us are eagerly anticipating the follow-up LP to their emo-inspired, football terminology-filled throwback debut The Draft. Thankfully we only have to wait a few more weeks until the release of Audible.
To help us bide our time, Count Your Lucky Stars Records has been gracious enough to give us a peek into the new album with the track "Fair," which you can only find here. They are even letting us give it to you for free -- just click the little yellow download arrow next to the play button!
"Fair" finds Football, Etc. a bit more polished than past releases. Not only does the band sound tighter, but frontwoman Lindsey Minton really finds herself coming into her own as a vocalist. She channels her inner Hayley Williams as the band shows us what Paramore might have sounded like if they had listened to more Mineral and Joan of Arc in high school. The song is filled with electric guitar, bass, and drums that work seamlessly in high gear to create that signature emo sound so many of us just haven't been able to get over. Bands like Football, Etc. are really keeping the genre alive.
If you enjoy the track, make sure to make your way over to Count Your Lucky Stars Records website so you can personally pre-order Audible, due out on August 13.
