Dark diva Fever Ray (a.k.a Karin Andersson from The Knife) recently released the single "Mercy Street." A cover of Peter Gabriel's song, Fever Ray's version of "Mercy Street" only slightly resembles the 80s pop singer's version. She added her own words and eccentric flair to best suit her undeniably distinct sound. A cover it may be, but Fever Ray certainly makes sure it holds strong to the image she has created for herself: dark, ominous, and hauntingly beautiful.
Resembling a rain storm, the electronic queen strays away from the creepiness of songs like "When I Grow Up" and "If I had a Heart" while maintaining the depth in her voice that fans have become accustomed to.
This single is a teaser to say the least for a new record in the (hopefully) near future.
