It's pretty safe to say that I fell in love with Espa last year. We've written about a few of her tracks already, which perfectly blended a modern electronic feel with 90s R&B. Her voice is rich and soulful -- we love it so much that she made it into our Best Female Vocalists list for 2014.
Her new track "Pray For Me" is a little different, but it's no less lovely. It plays around more with interesting electronic sounds combined with a jazzy piano and shuffling garage beat in a way that's catchy and cool, with an experimental edge.
Espa explains, "'Pray For Me' is my way of expressing that desperate moment when you long to see the light, you long for an intangible force to save you from a situation that's going nowhere... We're all running from our own demons; but sometimes we get brave enough to turn round, and face them head on. It's here, in this vulnerable moment, that we can capture our true strength.”
The track will feature on un upcoming four-track EP, LG60, out June 29.
