When Drake dropped If You're Reading This It's Too Late, the only thing that surprised me was that it wasn't Views From The 6. Rumor has it that Views From The 6 is nearly complete and this leaked Beyoncé track is more evidence that this project is nearing completion.
The blogs will blow up saying this is just Drake being Drake, but I beg to differ. Drake definitely leaves his signature mark with revealing bars like, “I try to be consistent but I cant” and "Finally take the time to open up to ya // cause that's the side you never get to see."
But the song is lacking the intricate production that Drake's become known for. It feels like he's going back to basics (although there's nothing basic about Beyoncé; I hope the final cut showcases her more).
As Drake strips it down, both emotionally and sonically, we catch a glimpse of what we can expect from his Views From The 6 project -- a departure from his (and rap's) signature sound. Views From The 6 will be Drake's 808s and Heartbreaks.
