Sounds like: Wavves, The Drums
Why do we like this?
Remember DOM's addicting summer party track, "Living in America" from last year's Sun Bronzed Greek Gods EP? Well, this September, Worcester's own indie rockers released two new gems that verified that their sudden success wasn't just by coincidence. "Crazy Girl" and "Things Change" are both rather different than the synth-pop songs we've heard from their first EP; with that said, this newer sound is something that I really dig.

"Things Change" is a steadfast indie rock song with rowdy guitar riffs, shadowy beats, and a charming momentum. The hazed vocals and resonant 90s basslines coherently shine through during the chorus giving them a solid lo-fi sound exhibited in their most recent EP, Family Of Love.

"Crazy Girl" is a wasters jam sesh delight. You've got the rumbling and thumping of a 50s surf track with valiant drumbeats, psychedelic guitar chords and fevered discourse. This 3-minute song is a cosmic swell of severe instrumentals mixed erratically with fluid-sounding counterparts. Listen to this track on repeat and the woman's evocative chanting will soon make you feel a little crazy.

Check out the video for "Things Change" below. You can also view DOM's latest release, Family of Love, here.
