Why do we like this?
What Diplo can do in a few hours is pretty mind blowing. You've got it, this was made in a few hours, on a plane no less! That is one talented guy right there. In addition to the short time frame, Diplo has achieved another surprising feat - he's made Nicki Minaj listenable... even enjoyable!
So I'm sure you're probably wondering how the hell has he done it!? Now I'm not absolutely certain on this, but I think it mashes Sleigh Bells, the 3-6 Mafia and the aforementioned Nicki. What comes out is hard to describe -- I guess I'd say this is "club R&B." And I know you could describe a David Guetta/Flo Rida combination as such - but this one has a more serious beat, and to my ears at least sounds a whole lot better.
Diplo is really showing off, if he really did make this in a couple of hours - it makes mere mortals like you and I feel like giving up! I really feel that we ought to hand it to him; he has managed to create the year's best mashup so far in the same time that the rest of us use to watch a crap movie from 5 years ago!
