Joel Zimmerman has been getting a little weird lately. His Soundcloud has been filled with little samples here and there, none of them really coming together to form a complete thought. Perhaps intentionally, "Closer" is about as close as he gets to actually taking the music any direction.
At a little over five minutes in length, the song meanders along for a little while, only to settle in a beautiful drumscape of key changes. Absolutely worth the wait, in my mind, but completely unlike the bangers most have come to expect from Deadmau5.
