Why do we like this?

I kind of lost track of Brooke Fraser, a singer/songwriter from New Zealand, a few years ago.

Turns out she has a new record out called Brutal Romantic, which has definitely made an impression on me with a new, more ambitious sound.

This remix by Aaron Short of Naked and Famous (heard of them?) and Sam McCarthy hooked me on first listen, and offers up a fresh, minimalist electronic take on Brooke's tune. Together known as Space Above, this is their first remix. I'm looking forward to hearing more cool collaborations in the future!
