Why do we like this?
I know it's not brand new, but this tune literally just saved me from a very stressful day of teaching, and it's been on repeat since I stumbled across it.
Fumbling for my keys to get into the apartment, I was determined to find something that would inspire me and turn my day around, so naturally I started watching festival recap videos on YouTube, and hearing this tune on Outlook Festival's 2013 video actually stopped me in my tracks.
Once I'd found out what the song was, I saw "Banks remix" and thought to myself "Banks! Banks remixed this in 2012! Where have I been?!" -- alas, the remix artist is a Brighton-based producer and musician who goes by the name of Alex Banks, not to be confused with our dear heart @hernameisbanks. Despite being a fan of Bonobo for a very long time, I clearly hadn't given his album Black Sands Remixed enough love, because this gem dates back two years ago now and this is the first time I've actually given it my full attention.
If you haven't heard it before then settle in for a journey of low bass lines, dub-like beats, stunning vocals and eerie samples. Pure. Musical. Bliss.
