Why do we like this?
Bombay Bicycle Club is one of those bands that seems like an indie rock institution, and also a group that people just love to remix. Canadian group THE DARCYS did just that with BBC's 2011 track "What You Want," recently uploaded on Arts & Crafts's SoundCloud page. Since this is my second post in a row from the neighbor to the north's label, it's safe to say I'm a fan of their talent pool.
The remix is nothing short of moving and poignant, with supple, elongated notes and intelligently gripping vocal samples. The juxtaposition of the remix's essence against the original is quite reminiscent of Mount Kimbie's take on Foals' "Spanish Sahara" from 2010 - both are totally sexy, dark, and one hundred percent beautiful.
THE DARCYS just released their first full length LP on Arts & Crafts, which you can peep here.
