Why do we like this?
I strongly recommend checking out the documentary Marley on Bob Marley's life and the musical movement he both created and shared with the world. It will have you wishing he was still around.
With that said, I happen to like Matisyahu's live acoustic cover of "Running Away" even better than the original. We still have to give it up to Marley and the Wailers for their Rasta groove and lyrical depth as they sang, "You're running and you're running and you're running away, but you can't run away from yourself." Matisyahu stretches the sentiment with additional fervor in his voice.
The rapper/singer/musician is currently on tour performing special acoustic shows into February. You can visit his SoundCloud for dates and a free download of this cover. Matisyahu's latest work, Spark Seeker, is also available on iTunes. According to his website, the album "digs for truth and meaning and is willing to let go of everything to find it."
