Why do we like this?
Every once in a super moon, a rare song presents itself that is certain to change a listener's perspective on a particular kind of music. It's not like Black Noi$e, a Bruiser Brigade affiliate, is trying to reinvent the wheel, but he certainly knows the mechanics of it. He is in a hardcore band (Face Reality), and it just so happened that Skywlkr (producer for Danny Brown) was friends with someone from them. The rest was history.
The initial 30 seconds of instrumentation will have the listener warmed up, when the bass and drums come into treble. What is fascinating is Black Noi$e's choice of drum pattern for "Hold On" -- it sounds wonderful. I wish I could give this song a first listen all over again; songs like this are the definitive reason why I enjoy listening to new music so much. Some production is made for the time, however, production like "Hold On" is timeless, and will manage to stay in rotation much longer, and age gracefully when compared with Yeezus.
