Why do we like this?
Melbourne alt-pop duo Big Scary recently released a dark and mesmerizing video for the track "Invest," off their latest album, Not Art. The single is a moody ballad, exactly what fans of the band may have come to expect.
It begins with a chilling piano melody and segues into haunting vocals, which then double into the chorus. Combined, this makes "Invest" one of the more beautiful songs I've heard in the last year.
The album, Not Art, was nominated for the Triple J Australian Album of the Year award in 2013 and singles like "Phil Collins" and "Luck Now" are propelling the group to new heights.
The band, which is fronted by multi-instrumentalist Tom Lansek and drummer/back-up vocalist Joanna Syme, are due for a North American tour along side Say Hi in April and May, as well as an appearance at Sasquatch Festival in July. If you like what you hear and want to further your knowledge of Big Scary, check the eerily minimalistic video for "Invest" below.
