Why do we like this?

Bantum's Ruairi Lynch is back with the new single "New String," fresh off his four-track Lay Lay EP which was digitally released last month. If the EP is anything like this track, then I think you're in for an electronically psychedelic symphony of sampling and filtering galore.

This track features vocals by master collaborator Owensie, which are defined and soulful. The track starts off with a mixed and matched batch of plucked strings; it's as if you're about to enter a fairy tale of trippy proportions. Then comes the low lying bass and beat. Together they bring an eerie darkness to what was just light and ethereal. It's quite the contrast, and the combination of those opposite effects brings a swirling mix of good and evil. Who knew those two things could create such a beautiful piece?

If you like what you hear then go ahead and explore what else Ireland's Bantum has to offer on his Lay Lay EP. Chances are you'll be tripped out and sonically owned. Good luck.
