Melbourne electronic duo Back Back Forward Punch have closed out their 2014 with the release of a double single. This track, “Big Time,” is the first from the double release.
Much of BBFP’s previous work has danced around a disco influence -- sometimes their work is more electro, sometimes it’s more pop. Not this time! I love acts that show variety in their sound, and there is absolutely no doubting the disco-ness (is that even a word?) in this track.
And it’s fun, too. “Big Time” is bright, groovy, and super stylish. Vocalist Laura Boland really gets to show off her skills here and she has some excellent lyrics to help her along the way.
The second half of this double release is worth checking out. “Up Late In The Jungle” is equally as disco-styled and the two tracks are a nice contrast between bright electro and late-night basement chill.
