It's been pointed out that this track bears a striking sonic resemblance to Disclosure's "Latch" and I can't help but agree. It shares the same kind of rhythmic bounce and deep house feel in the chorus with a more radio-friendly vibe.
To add to that, the phrasing of the lyrics are highly reminiscent of Kygo's remix of "Younger" by Seinabo Sey. So this track is a bit of an amalgam of house sub-genres. With elements of tropical house and a poppy top line, "Better" follows a kind of musical formula guaranteed to make you bob your head.
"Better" shows a different side of Attom's music. As producer Kyle Stern strays from his typical chill electronic style, he opts for a more vibrant sound complete with atmospheric chords, tropically infused melodies and cool vocals courtesy of Justin Stein.
