Why do we like this?
Last August, Indie Shuffle premiered the first single off Eskimo Recordings' The Pink Collection, "Olivia" by Satin Jackets. Next month they are releasing a compilation named The Blue Collection, dropping the first single "The Monster" last week along with a few remixes.
Stubborn Heart's remix of "The Monster" begins and stays heavy, lyrically and melodically. Dense synths stick to the edges of the melody throughout the spacey electronic track, the emotive tone matching each introspective word. Each note is powerful yet retains a welcome refinement. Atella speaks of an internal demon, cultivated by oneself, and the struggles that come along with said beast -- a theme that most everyone can relate to.
