Hailed as one of "Toronto's Breakout acts of 2013," indie artist Art Imperial just released his third album,
Crush, and it's pretty dope -- garage rock meets dream pop with a twinge of doo wop. Perfect for long drives and drinking by yourself.
I'm digging the beach bonfire beat that bumps in the background for this track; it's got this sort of Beach House meets Dirty Beaches vibe going on. His second album was described as "drenched in reverb and heartbreak." I like the artist's style. With influences from R&B, shoegaze, and surf rock, you know this is going to be eclectic sounding. It works.
Not too much on
SoundCloud, but you can get a full download of this album

music video -- it's like a somber 8-bit drive by.
