Why do we like this?
A while back, I brought you a couple tracks off of ARMS' EP2 -- some perfectly crafted indie pop tracks, filled with lo-fi goodness and the vocals of frontman Todd Goldstein. Now, house music might not be what first comes to mind when you think of ARMS, but Washington D.C. producer/DJ Calbe L'Etoile would like to change your mind.
Using the track "Sympathetic Strings" as his vehicle, L'Etoile transforms the haunting acoustic original into a whole new beast. Kicking it off with a glitched out beat, he takes his time to build up to full pitch, with some grooving bass and Goldstein's vocals sounding like they belong on a Radiohead album. L'Etoile manages to take "Sympathetic Strings" to whole new level that I think ARMS would be more than happy to dance to.
You can download it for free over on L'Etoile's SoundCloud page.
