Los Angeles producer DJ Falcons is usually known for his staggering production with mountains of beats that collapse original songs into a frantic pace perfect for dancing. But his latest entry is a toned down and much more sensual than what you’re used to hearing from him.
He took Alicia Keys’ “Feelin U, Feelin Me” and just did enough to keep the song’s jazzy R&B sensuality while giving it a little oomph. He slathered some effects on Keys' vocals, giving the track a slightly different persona. And listening to his remix, you can tell that the big trap beats just want to explode and break it down into a giant coliseum of sound.
But Falcons knew not to do too much. He knew that sometimes doing too much not only destroys a song, but it completely loses the soul of it. What he did here was just right. It’s a sexy experience.
