I've just been blown away by this single, so I hope you enjoy it, too. UK trio 14th, made up of Tracy Duodu, Tom Barber, and Jack Sugden, are making slinky electro-R&B with a sensual trip-hop vibe, mysterious beats, and stunning melodies.
Originally a duo (with a debut EP titled Hide Yourself), the band re-emerged from a brief hiatus with a new name, new band member, and a brilliant new sound -- check out their last single, "Sweet Lies."
"Cover You" begins with ominous garage-y beats before opening up with Duodo's haunting, absolutely demanding vocals. Cinematic to a theatrical level, there's something so dramatic and captivating about this song.
This blend of tribal-inspired rhythms with breathy R&B melodies caught me off guard, and I am completely in love. One of the most original tracks I've heard in some time, I cannot wait to hear more from 14th.
