Why do we like this?
Here's another arresting cover from Twin Shadow, turning 112's delicate love song "Cupid" into a minimalistic electronic wonder. 112's original ballad relies on the group's sugary harmonies backed by an acoustic guitar, but Twin Shadow converts "Cupid" into a synth and percussion slow burner.
While the song lacks the differing harmonies of 112, Twin Shadow does a commendable job overdubbing his on hushed vocals, giving the song a much more mechanical feeling. It's not quite as enjoyable as his previous efforts (10cc's "I'm Not In Love" in particular), but these covers are an entertaining side step until Twin Shadow decides to unleash a new album.
